Seasonal Ingredient of the Week: Dates
Have you ever seen a fresh date? Neither had we until a recent trip to our fave grocers (Michael Fruiterers in Finsbury Park - it's maybe the best kept secret of North London). The excitement was similar to when you spot a pair of shoes you’ve always wanted in the sale - that was until we got home and actually tried them, I think it’s safe to say that we’ll be sticking to dried dates in future (much less ‘furry’). But to celebrate the seasonality of the fresh guys (above) we’ve shared some of our favourite date recipes below. Whether it’s as simple as stuffing a medjool with almond butter, or using them for an elaborate vegan twit bar, dates really are the ultimate sweet treat.
